God is Moving and Working at Stonebridge UMC

Greetings in the name of our Lord,

Rejoice in the Lord aways, again I say rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)

God is moving and working at Stonebridge UMC. Last Sunday was glorious! I rejoice in the Lord for those who are returning to worship. Sunday, we could feel the spirit moving through our fellowship and our worship. The room filled with people and anticipation as we set up extra tables and chairs to provide more seating for those who came to break bread and share in worship.

Thanks to all those who made the morning special; the many volunteers who set up tables and chairs, prepared breakfast, those who made sure all were welcome, the worship team, the media team, and those who put away the tables and chairs when we were done with breakfast and worship. It was wonderful. Thank you!

The response to the Harvest Box collection for Meals on Wheels has been beyond our greatest expectations. Our goal was to collect 10 boxes (though we were secretly hoping for 20). At last count we have collected over 60 Harvest Boxes for Meals on Wheels! Three times our goal!! And we still have the weekend to push these results higher and to serve the needs of the many who are challenged by hunger and poor health. Hallelujah Church! Keep up the great work as we strive to make a difference in people’s lives and faith.

The final results for “Bring-a-Tithe Sunday” are complete. The two-week total was over $62,000. Thank you for making this a grand outpouring of generosity. Keep it up Church! Together we can make a difference for Christ. We still have much work to do, but we are making progress. Thank you.

This week, I will be preaching on 2 Timothy 3:14-17 and Isaiah 55:10-11. We will be looking at the content and reliability of the Bible. I love the scriptures and the truth of God’s Word that it holds. When we examine the Bible’s origins, we find there is unquestionable evidence of the

Bible’s truth as God’s sacred Word. My hope is to provide the means by which we can explain to our friends and family why the Bible stands as the sacred inspired Word of God. It is a book like no other – God’s word.

We are building momentum as people are returning to worship and responding to the call to service and spiritual growth. Now is the time to invite friends and family to worship. Spread the good word, challenge yourself and others to reconnect with the church, and let’s see what God can do among us!
