Summer Listening Sessions

Greetings in the Name of our Lord,

I want to invite you to a series of Summer Listening Sessions to discuss and dream about our future. Can we make Stonebridge UMC an exemplary church for others to follow? Do you believe that God is alive in our midst and calling us to work together to achieve more – to bring more souls to Christ? I believe God is calling us to such as part of the high and holy task of being a Kingdom Church.

A few weeks ago, I shared a bold vision of increasing our worship attendance to over 425, while doubling our children and youth ministries. All within the next nine months. Our recent growth in attendance and involvement has been an exciting indicator that this vision, though ambitious, is within our reach. I want to gather us together in small groups to ask the question: What will make Stonebridge Unstoppable in claiming lives and families for Christ?

It will mean everyone pulling together in several areas to reclaim the vitality that is part of the DNA of Stonebridge UMC. When God’s people pull together through prayer and cooperative efforts, anything is possible.

We have created a SignUpGenius for you to choose the best date to attend. Click here to sign up. Please note that we are capping these meetings at 20 per house, so sign up early to reserve a place in your neighborhood. Each evening, we will begin at 6:30 pm with light refreshments and end by 8:15. I will be sharing more details in future emails.

The purpose of these SUMC Summer Listening Tour sessions is threefold:

  • To provide an opportunity for us to listen to God’s voice about the plans for next steps.

  • To provide an opportunity for connection in a comfortable, small group setting.

  • To ask for advice and suggestions from our membership about what is possible for our church over the next year, to collect and analyze that information, and then to challenge the church to come together to reach new heights.

This Sunday during the 9:45 a.m. service is Confirmation Sunday. We have the privilege of witnessing several young people committing their faith in Christ. Let’s pack Celebration Hall and make this the best Sunday ever.

See you Sunday.
